Suggest Remedy For Pain In Fractured Ribs

I fractured two lower ribs in a car accident about 3 years ago. Recently, I have had a cold and cough. I am experiencing alot of pain right where the ribs were fractured and it feels like I am not getting air in that lower lung because it hurts to breathe. Can you refracture ribs by coughing or do you think something else is going on? The pain feels like when the ribs were broken.I am 53 yrs old and otherwise in good health.
