Hello,

You have missed your periods and are 16 days above normal. You have taken misoprostol on your own without getting clinically examined by a gynecologist. Presently, you are having severe pain lower abdomen and back. You are suggested to get connected to a gynecologist. Do not stay at home.

Misoprostol can cause very heavy bleeding, pain / cramps, chills, confusion, hypotension, blurred vision, light headedness, headache, feeling unusually cold, vomiting, frequent urges to urinate, etc. You may need medical help urgently. Contact your gynecologist / health care provider or get hospitalized.

Stay under the observation of a treating doctor so that your symptoms can be managed and you may remain comfortable. At present, you can take acetaminophen, one stat for a little relieve. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
