Hi, i have somehow hurt the inside of my lower lip, where my gum is at the very bottom. It is very painful and gets worse when the area is stretched, such as when i am eating. I have checked and it is not an ulcer and their is no bruising as far as i can see. What could this be? And how can i treat the pain?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain in case if you have hurt the inside of the lip there might be tear in the mucosa and inflammation leading to pain on stretching the lip and also eating.. Nothing to worry as it will gradually resolve.. You can apply a numbing gel containing Lignocaine or analgesic ointment containing Choline Salicylate for relieving pain especially before meals.. You can also take Advil to relieve pain and discomfort.. Sucking ice can also help.. Avoid hot, spicy and hard foods to prevent further irritation and injury.. In case if there is no improvement in a week consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
