Hello! I had a complete hysterectomy over a year ago. When the catheter was placed it hurt for the entire time I was in the hospital. I have had catheters before, but they have never caused this type of pain. My post-opt check up went well, and the doc said everything was healing great. I told him that I was still having pain in the left lower part of my abdominal/pelvis area....he said that was normal. So, I have had this constant ache that I have become accustomed to. Well, a couple of weeks ago the pain got a little more intense. Now the pain is almost unbearable. I have taken pain meds of all sorts, and they ease the pain for about an hour to an hour and a half. a heating pad seems to help. It feels as though someone is stabbing me in my vagina. I have had UTI s bladder infections, kidney infecions, but this feels different than those did. I m going to the doctoe on Tuesday (I have fibro) and will tell him about the pain ONCE AGAIN. He just brushes it off. help!
