Suggest Remedy For Pain In Ribs Due To Broken Wire After TOF

Hello, I am an 18 year old female with TOF...I've been through 4 surgreies for it and just last year the doctors realize that the wire that was holding my ribs together is now broken. They told me not to worry about and to go home but a year and a bit later I still have pain and swelling in the same spot in which it is broken. I keep going back only to be sent away with pain killer and the same answer "it will go away". Is it possible for it to be removed...or something else that can be causeing the pain?
