Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your health concerns..
As per your complain
swollen gums while undergoing orthodontic treatment can be due to 2 reasons:
1. It can be due to
Plaque deposits over teeth which is not cleaned properly due to braces..
2. Due to pressure and inflammation over the gums when braces are tightened causing Reactionary
Hyperplasia..
It's nothing serious and happen commonly after tightening of the wires over the braces, and will resolve in a few days but it should be kept in mind that if pressure is in excess and not tolerable you should consult your orthodontist and get evaluated..
Other thing is that you can use specialized orthodontic brushes for maintaining clean teeth to avoid infection and swollen gums..
As for now you can use numbing gels like Oragel or
Anbesol for relief..
Take painkiller like
Ibuprofen in case of pain..
Apply ice packs..
Drink plenty of cold water..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
