Suggest Remedy For Pain In The Shoulder Blade Followed By Headaches & Dizziness
Mowed my lawn on wednesday. Felt dizzy and lightheaded. On Thursday i woke up with pain behind my shoulderblade. Thought I slept wrong. Same thing on Friday, except more pain and discomfort all day. Today is Saturday and I have all that plus my left arm from my elbow up is now painful plus I have a headache. My left arm is painful in any position. I have been taking Advil but the pain wont go away. Do you think I slept in an awkward position or could this problem stem from me mowing the lawn the other day?

Sorry to hear about your pain. The area of pain between the shoulder blades could be related to numerous causes. Since your pain started after a physical activity and is unrelated to food and is persistent it is likely due to thoracic spondylosis or cervical spondylosis. This is just a fancy way of saying arthritis of the spine. In some cases arthritis in the spine can result in compression or irritation of a nerve root and this can result in the radicular symptoms in your arm ( in your case it could be the C7 or C8 nerve root that is irritated). This would likely correlate with spondylosis at the C6-7 or C7-T1 facet joint ( facets are the name of the joints of your spine). You should see your physician and or a interventional pain physician to have a thurough physical exam and appropriate imaging. I hope this helps and i hope you feel better soon.
