I have a sharp pain in my throat whenever i hit a certain pitch in my voice, laugh, yawn, or sometimes when I project my voice. I have to take breaks from speaking for hours and even opt out of talking at work when it stays consistent. I lost my voice a day before this happened. My voice has not altered and does not sound harsh. The last week has been hell...it feels like I swallowed a chip whole and cut my throat. I have to grab my throat to get through the pain sometimes and it sucks! I sing, haven t smoked in a long time and rarely drink. I m scared I have a problem...Oh, and I have not gotten my tonsils taken out....could that be it? The pain is about an inch long on my left side...two inches from from my collar bone. (jumbled I know...just not sure what it is and it s scaring me that it s not going away...)

Suggest Remedy For Pain In The Throat
Hello, As per your history, it may be due to sore throat. For that do saline or Betadine gargles. Take steam inhalation twice a day. In case of fever, cough you may require antibiotics, complete hemogram, chest X Ray after consultation. Along with that maintain proper hygiene. Use hygienic food and water. Take proper rest. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
