Suggest Remedy For Pain Near The Calf

I had surgery on my calf about a year ago and on a recent camping trip got a very bad bruise about an inch and a half above the top of the scar. This was almost a month ago and I now have pain in the entire muscle and it just hadn t felt right since. Could I have damaged the muscle permanently?

Hi,

No, it's not damaging your muscle permanently. I suggest doing an MRI of the affected muscle. I also suggest non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen 400mg 2 times a day and diclofenac ointment apply locally. Go to the ER to help you with pain and see if the situation is getting worse.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
