Suggest Remedy For Pain On Neck And Numbness On Arms

I have pain that started over a year ago. Started in left side of neck and only happened every few weeks. Usually lasted 30 minutes or so. Now, pain is acute to the point it almost takes your breath away. Pain has radiated to left and back of neck as well as in left shoulder blade, shoulder ball and socket and upper arm and sometimes lower arm. No tingling or numbness in arm, but it feels weak. I can move arm - doesn t hurt any worse to raise above head or lower arm, but doesn t get better either. I also get nausesated with the pain. It hurts 4-5 times a week now and sometimes last 5-6 hours. I usually have to take 2 aleve, 2 tums, 2 doses of milk or magnesia, drink a sprite to burp and relieve the nausea, and put theragesic on 3-4 times to get any relief and then it isn t immediate. I went to a ortho doctor who was no help. I am going to my regular dr tomorrow and he is going to try to get me an appointment with a neuro surgeon. Am I on the right track?
