Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past month I have been seeing a chiropractor due to pain under my right shoulder. He had x-rays done and found a spur on the T8 & T9 vertebrae. I have undergone 1/2 hour massages and an adjustment for 3 days a week for the past 3 weeks. My insurance will only pay for 12 visits to a chiropractor and now I don't know what to do. The chiropractor says I have to "'put up with" the pain and keep coming to him for massages and adjustments. I am fear full of surgery. My mother had this same problem, had the spur removed but is still in pain. Went to another doc for her and found that when the spur was removed bone was too. So now she gets steroids shots one a year. Should I continue with the chiropractor or should I go see about surgery?
