Hello and I hope I can help you today.

It is normal to feel soreness at the incision for even 8 weeks after a C-section so the fact that you still require pain relief is not unusual.

However, if you had smelly discharge from your wound and you were treated with antibiotics, I suggest you see your surgeon back for a follow-up evaluation.

Now- if you are referring to vaginal discharge, if the odor is gone, there is no reason to see your doctor back as it is normal as well to feel sore in the vagina , even if you didn't give birth vaginally.

So in summary, if your symptoms are related to your wound, I suggest you see your doctor again now instead of waiting until your six-week checkup. If it your vagina, your symptoms are normal and will improve with more time.

I hope i was able to answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.

Best wishes, Dr. Brown
