I have one swollen tonsil, it is very painful sometimes, it never goes away just gets duller, I have had it for 2 months now and I now feel tired and achey all over, when I brushed my teeth tonight I spat blood but not from my gums only when I drew it in from the back. I have had blood tests which came back with large red blood cells and a throat swab which came back negative - could this be Quinsey? I m 26 years old
Hi, thanks for your query. In my opinion, unilateral tonsil enlargement with pain, but blood work normal and throat swab no growths, suggests you can be going tonsillar cyst. Excision , if it gets infected very often is the only treatment options. You can discuss this with your doctor and get evaluated. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
