Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi have a terrible pain in the heel and ankle. Came on overnight. I can hardly walk on it. Any ideas. I am a 54 yr old male. 6 feet tall 270 pounds. I take meds for high blood pressure and potassium. I do drink beer and some alcohol on weekends. Thanks Brian
Sudden onset in majority of cases is either trauma or dietary factors. Elevation in uric acid can be one of the most common causes and so I would strongly recommend you to visit a doctor for an xray examination of the foot and ankle region and a blood test to check on your ESR, CRP, RA factor and serum uric acid levels.
Best wishes.
