Suggest Remedy For Painful Back Pimple

Yes I have what I thought was a pimple on my back which due to what I thought came from sweat, as I work on a hot grill & do in fact sweat to the point that my cloths are so wet. It got bigger as the week went on & my husband told me to get a wet wash cloth & a heating pad to bring it up & out I suppose. This did not help &,has become raised & about the size of a penny, & painful now. My girlfriend tried to pop it & could not do so, so she cut it opened & pinch/ squeeze the stuff out. She got it to a point that it squirt in her face, however she was trying to get the pit /white hard piece inside to come out, but it has yet to do so! It became to much for me after 2 hours of trying. At this point she cleaned it & put some stuff on it, covered with gauze for the night & are gonna try again tomorrow. She said she can see it but its so deep & I also needed to stop! My question is are we doing the right thing? At this time I m now back on heating pad. Please help me if you can. Sincerely, Dee Berry

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful back pimple which seems to be due to hair follicle infection leading to folliculitis/ boil/ furuncle. It could be due to clogging of sebaceous glands by bacteria, debris and sebum as excessive glands are there. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep the area clean and maintain proper hygiene and wash it properly with cold water and apply topical antibacterial cream 0.2% mupirocin. You should apply cream containing azelaic acid. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Take oral antibiotics as well. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. You can go for laser therapy as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
