Suggest Remedy For Painful Calf After Popping Left Knee

I popped the menescius cartlege in my left knee gettin up one morning. I wen to the doctor & they put an ace bandage on it & told me to put ice on it & keep it elevated. The knee pain in gone, but it has moved down to my calf. I can't straighten my leg unless I massage it. is this a cramp or charley horse, & what can I do to get rid of it. It hurts to walk.
