Suggest Remedy For Painful Cramps

I ve just recently started on the pill (I have taken 14 days of the 21 pills) which was to help ease the pain of the cramps that I get during my period which are extremely painful. However since taking them, I have been getting cramps similar to those I experience during my period every day. Is this normal with my body adjusting to taking the pills or could there be something else wrong?
