Suggest Remedy For Painful Joints In Hands With On And Off Numbness

I have joint pain in the hands mostly. In the morning, or after periods of inactivity, it feels as if my fingers dislocate when I bend them. I can feel the joint separate and pop back when straightened. It started in the middle finger, now has progressed to 5 fingers total, affecting both hands. No trauma to area. Also have intermittent numbness to certain fingers. Ulnar nerve are of right hand, and 2,3,4 digits on left. Circulation appears normal.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to rheumatoid arthritis. I recommend to check the rheumatoid factor level for further evaluation. Meanwhile, I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. I also suggest to use cold compresses for local application.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
