I have this bump on my inner butt cheek where the but begins, and the bump is really hard and painful. I have been putting Neosporin on it but it s not helping. I also tried hot compressors but that doesn t help either. It s so painful it s hurts to walk. What do I do?

Hello,

Painful lump on buttock can be any of the following:
1) Furuncle or boil
2) Gluteal abscess
3) Carbuncle
4) Sebaceous cyst

You need to be examined in person. If it is an abscess, immediately it needs drainage. You should not neglect the swelling as it may lead to sepsis. Meanwhile, to decrease the pain you can take NSAIDs like ibuprofen and Naproxen etc. Antibiotics may be necessary for effective treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
