Suggest Remedy For Periods Problem

I am 22 years old, in shape, and sexually active. I've been on the Loestrin-24 birth control pill for over 3 months now. Last month I missed a pill and took it immediately once I realized it. Afterwards, I ended up having a two week long period. I didn't have sex for 5 weeks after. This month, during the time of my period, I am only have black/brown discharge and no red. I had sex over a week ago but have been taking the pill regularly since that one missed pill 7 weeks ago. Is this a sign of early pregnancy or does this count as a light period since the last one was so heavy? Should I take a pregnancy test even though I've been taking the pill regularly at the same time every day?
