Hi, Dear Doctor My son is at the age of 10 year is facing the issue with bed wetting, i would like to also inform that till the age of 3, he does not have this issue till the age of 3 he was very normal and thereafter he continue face the problem. He do t have the any health problem as well he is also well perfom in his studies. kindly suggest how we can help to stop the issue.
Hello, Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. Bed wetting is not normal for a child of 10 years age. You should start with home treatment if you haven't already tried. Give less fluids after 8pm. Don't give drink like cola after evening. Make him empty bladder just before going to bed. Don't scold him but reassure that bed wetting is not good & you want to help him get rid of it. Ask him to hold urine during daytime as long as he can. This will improve bladder muscle tone. If you have already tried these or it gives no improvement in three months, you need to consult pediatrician. There are medicines available for this problem like imipramine & desmopressin which will help a lot. Hope this will be helpful. Take care.
