my 4 year old son has repeated ear pains - most of the time, never developes fever, any time he has a slight cold - his ears will react, he has fluid behind the ear drum so his hearing is marginally impaired but not critically to undergo surgery. after having on and off ear pains - particularly his left ear, an ear culture was performed and was found to have a Bacillus Sp. - what does that mean?
Hello. As i see you didn't mention at all that came fluids from son's ears , so why did they performed an ear culture?!! It doesnt mean anything if there is a Bacillus Sp. The problem with your son is because of the nose and Adenoids, there is not enough air in to the ears. You should check for Adenoids and if there are a lot you should think to do a surgery ADENOTOMY , after 2-3 months you will see that your son will be better. In 95% of my patients with the same problem i did ADENOTOMI and everything was ok with the ears after 2-3 months. Only in 5% i did also the Miringocentesis to take out the fluids out the ears.
wish you all the best....
