Hello Doctor Im 32yrs male from Chennai. For the past 2 years i have been affected by hyper pigmentation, and in recently my friend has suggested me to use Melacare Forte and I did so.As Im using for the past 1 month,I can see big difference as the density of the pigmentation has reduced considerably. When I stopped using,my face turns to darker and then I continued to use the cream. Please advise whether to continue the cream or any alternative is there. How long Melacare Forte can be used. Will there be any side effects. Please help.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Melacare Forte cream contains Hydroquinone, Tretinoin and Mometasone. These ingredients on long term use will damage your skin. Mometasone is a steroid which on long term application can cause thinning of skin, hair growth and white discoloration of skin. Do not get deceived by initial improvement. Please stop these cream immediately and report to your dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
