Suggest Remedy For Pins And Needles Sensation In Fingers And Elbow
in normal daily activities a pins and needles sensation (like falling asleep feeling) starts in my middle finger and shoots up towards my elbow but stops just before it. I make fists and shake my arm and wrist, and gently squeeze my right arm for it to go away. it has happened twice before and this time lasted longer. probably a good minute. I was kinda really worried this time cause it lasted so long and more pronounced. was just standing holding a shopping cart at the time in late afternoon at the checkout.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to nerve compression syndrome. It can be median nerve compression like carpal tunnel syndrome or in the path above it. A physical examination with an orthopedician will be helpful to rule out the condition. Nerve conduction study might be needed also. Physiotherapy, neurotropics like pregabalin and methylcobalamin will be helpful also. If compression is more and symptoms are not improving then surgical correction should be considered. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
