Suggest Remedy For Popped Dark Purple Bump On Labia
I have a small dark purple bump that popped up on my labia this morning. It only hurts if I squeeze it, but it doesn t seem like it will pop. I was just wondering what this could be. I have unprotected sex with only one partner and have been for 4 years and we are both clean. I won t have time to go to the doctor until next week, so is there anything I can do for it until then?

based from your description, it could be folliculitis. this is an inflammatory reaction which usually occurs after shaving or when a hair is accidentally pulled out. it resolves spontaneously but sometimes, it gets infected. it could also be a cyst, or an inflammatory reaction which is starting to form an abscess. a consult with your gynecologist or a general surgeon is best for clinical evaluation. medical (proper antibiotic regimen) and/or surgical (incision/excision and drainage) management will be directed accordingly. for now, avoid shaving, manipulation of the lesion and application of strong chemical irritants. good hygiene is also advised.
