Suggest Remedy For Problem In Eyes

I have noticed that the transparent layer over my the white part of my eye is unusually loose in the past week or two. I have always had string like mucus that I have to take out of my eye every morning. I have been wearing contacts (soft) for the last 6 months. Is this something I should worry about? Should I go see my eye doctor immediately?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having swollen conjunctiva and stringy mucus discharge for last 6 months. Since you are also using contact lenses, these symptoms indicate allergic conjunctivitis. The treatment is by use of anti-allergic eye drops and stopping the use of contact lenses till the symptoms are relieved.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
