Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi,I had corrective club foot surgery when I was 8 or so months old. I am now 20 years old and for the last couple years I have noticed that my foot has progressively began "tightening?". This may not be the right word for it but the symptom is that as I bend my club foot (as if I was bending my body into a standing squat position) there seems to be a certain spot that it locks up on and won't let me bend any further without bending my knee. My "normal" foot goes way beyond my club foot. The spot is just right off standing straight up now but I don't remember having the problem a few years back. It doesn't hurt usually; I can describe it as if you were bending your hand back and all of a sudden you hit the spot where you wrist no longer allows you to move further back. No pain is felt but it is hard when one foot allows further "bending" and the other one doesn't especially when I am running. I often feel pain the next day after a long walk or any running. I'm just curious whether or not this is normal or should I be looked at and if I should be looked at what could be done to correct it. Is there any other information you think I should know about this "tightening?"
