Suggest Remedy For Productive Cough Following Flu

hi, i am having cough since last 4 weeks. it started with irritation in throat after i took ketchup at Pizzahut, converted into flu, that is ok now. However cough is still on, not too much but it comes with flem and irritating during office meetings. I am taking cough syrups etc but not that effective.

The cough associated with the flu or common cold can sometimes persist for up to 6 weeks after the other symptoms have resolved.

The exact reason is not known but it may be due to persisting inflammation in the respiratory tract.

Since the cough is productive you can consider the use of a mucolytic to break up the mucus.
Examples are bisolvan, mucomyst, aeroflux, guiafensin

In addition a cough suppressant may also be helpful.
