Hi, i am having a real problem with my face... i have had bouts of MRSA in the past but have been having what I thought was cystic acne recently and there was a sore that opened up above my eye. it has gotten worse and i went to the emergency room and they gave me antibiotics today but i am not satisfied with the care I was given as my eye is getting puffier and puffier. they just wrote it off as another MRSA outbreak but I think something worse is going on. any ideas? I can send a photo
Hi. As per your case history you are having a carbuncle around eye. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling. 4. Higher antibiotics like levofloxacin and linezolid are required. So it is better to consult a dermatologist for perfect treatment.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
