Suggest Remedy For Purple Rash On Shin Due To Poison Ivy

My boyfriend thinks that he got into some poison oak while mowing the lawn. It wasn t a huge area, just part of his shin, so we used some cortizon cream. now it is turning a purple color. He go the rash saturday and he woke up this morning with it purple.

The possible diagnosis of the condition based on the description of the lesions is irritant contact dermatitis .Topical mild steroid cream like mometasone can be applied over the affected area. Oral antihistamines like fexofenadine may also be used if the rash itches.Preferably wear full clothes while you go out. Consult your dermatologist regarding the above mentioned therapy,Regards
