Suggest Remedy For Puss Accumulation In Chest

My father had a open heart surgery a few weeks ago and he has a pus accumulation in the middle of his chest. This is along the area which was cut open for the surgery. He now has developed high fever overnight and also has some body pains. What has to be done now?

Thanks for your question on HCM. Your father is having Surgical Site Infection (SSI).It is seen if
1. Drains are not properly placed.
2. Immunity of the patient is low.
3. Sterile precautions have not taken during surgery.
Pus anywhere in the body needs to remove immediately. So your father may need surgery again to remove all pus and cleaning the site (debridement). And the symptoms(fever and pain at surgical site) are also suggestive of this. So consult your surgeon and discuss about this.
