2 weeks ago my 3 year old developed a rash confined to the palms of her hands, it came out of the blue and looked like she had stuck her hands in an ant mound, like Dyshidrotic Dermatitis, I took her to her ped and after a couple of drs looking they determined it was a contact rash and gave her Fluticasone .05% cream, which of course in a 3 year old is almost impossible. The rash lasted 4 days, now the skin on her hands is peeling off and VERY dry and red underneath. Also, rashes are appearing intermitadly on other areas of her body, today it is on her torso as small red flat spots and on her legs, which are not red but are raised. If it is of any connection she also has a PFO in her right ventricle. I am very concerned, I understand the peeling on her palms is part of the healing process but at such a young age I do not want her to lose feeling in her hands! I am debating returning to her ped or perhaps taking her to see a dermatologist.
