Suggest Remedy For Recurring Yeast Infections In Vagina

I have been experiencing virgina yeast infections very often lately. Almost every month it keeps coming back. I have been treating myself with over the counter medicines. However it keeps coming back. Also my period have become irregular recently. And i have pain during intercourse when its deep penetration. Is this all linked to something serious? And should i seek help? Many thanks.

Hi,

Can you mention what exactly are the symptoms? yeast infection of vagina usually presents with itching, redness and a curd like white discharge.

As you are getting repeated attacks, I would recommend you to consult once with your doctor, so that we can confirm diagnosis before next treatment and give a full course of treatment. In recurrent cases, I used to treat once with a combination of topical and oral anti fungal drugs.

Also it is strongly recommended to rule out diabetes, as this can be one of the cause. A rare subset of patients might need anti-fungal prophylaxis for few months. Your doctor will guide you.
