Suggest Remedy For Red Bump At Injection Site

On April 14th I had plastic surgery on my upper and lower eye lids. Restylane was injected just under the eye sockets. A red bump, tender to the touch, developed at the injection site, right side; when iced it gets a little better, however returns. I live in New York, the surgeon is in Savannah, Ga, therefore I can t see him right away. What can I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The red bump at the injection site is a normal reaction after an injection. I suggest to use cold compresses for local application. I also suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. It will relieve gradually.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
