Suggest Remedy For Red, Itchy And Spreading Rash At The Base Of Spine

Hello I have developed an odd rash that started at the base of my spine and over two days has grown to about two inches wide and eight inches long and has caused most of all the first layer of at least dead skin to rub off. It is also dark red and of course itchy. Not as itchy as I would think it would be in comparison to its appearence. I can t think of anything I have been around chemical or otherwise that I could have had contact with out of the usual. Neither in washing detergent or bath soap. At this point the skin /possibly dead skin I m thinkin) mid way up the back along the spine is rubbing off and the area is growing length wise mostly. What could this be.

* As per my clinical experience, sudden itchy red rash at the base of spine can be related to allergic response to either cloth material, atmospheric pollen or others. My guidelines at present:

- wear loose, clean, cotton clothes
- avoid exposure to excess or direct sunlight
- anti histamine as cetrizine, loratidine or diphenhydramine
- local cleansing with antiseptic liquid or soap
- use betamethasone cream to apply over rash
- discuss need of prescription of antibiotics for better recovery with your primary care provider.
