hi, I am 60 yrs old. I had bypass surgery in 2004. when they stitched my chest there it was not done nicely so I have that red skin outside of the stitches.. now whats happening is it itches a lot and becomes red more often. what is it called , is there any remedy to it ?
Hello, Thanks for the query, You might be suffering from keloid. It appears due to excess collagen formation in wound. Treatment is with topical steroid creams. If there is no response you might need to take intralesional steroid injections. A photograph would have helped me in giving a closer diagnosis. Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
