Hello thanks for asking from HCM

Migraine is a pulsatile throbbing type of headache that cause significant impairment to day to day functioning. As she is having severe headaches then there is need of urgent treatment.

Treatment of migraine is done with medicines like Sodium Valproate, Topiramate, Amitryptiline etc. These medicines help to reduce frequency of headache. Propranolol helps to prevent episodes of headache. For severe episodes of headache medicines like ergot derivatives or naproxen, analgesics as ibuprofen etc can be used. Consult a doctor for prescription of drugs.

To prevent episodes I would advise her to avoid excess tea, coffee, carbonated drinks etc. Having good sleep, avoiding excess stress help to reduce headaches.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
