Suggest Remedy For Sensitive Scalp With Psoriasis

I have always had a sensitive scalp. I do have psoriasis. But lately it is very painful to brush my hair. I cut off 4 inches. I cant even wear a ponytail lately. it is especially painful on the top front on both sides just behind my bangs. What can help with this pain?

Dear user,

I really understand your concern.

For your sensitive scalp due to psoriasis I would prescribe coal tar shampoo Zetar in place of regular shampoo two times per week, that should be used as below:
- Apply lather to scalp, allow to soak for 5 minutes and then rinse.
- If scale is very thick, use P and S Liquid (OTC). Massage in at night and wash out in morning.

For additional treatment as needed, apply triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% (Kenalog 0.1%) lotion or equivalent to scaly, stubborn areas once or twice daily until controlled. Avoid face.

All the best!
