Suggest Remedy For Severe Cough And Sinusitis

Hi, my name is Mary. Went to the dr. Thursday, dr. Said she thought I had sinus infection, I ask for a z-pac, she said to fill it in 3 weeks if I still felt bad. Funny, she said my ears looked good but never looked at them. My cough is really bad, so pugged up, I use a nose spray, I get nervous after words. I feel really bad, just want to stay in bed. Should I go see an urgent care Dr in the morning? I don't want pneumonia .

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain as you are given Z-Pak for your sinus infection, it is an appropriate antibiotic and you should continue taking it but along with it you will have to take symptomatic treatment to resolve the symptoms faster as the antibiotics may take a longer time to provide relief as and when gradually the infection will subside..
Along with z-pak you should also take decongestants like Pseudoephadrine or Phenylephrine, anti-histamines like Benadryl, mucolytics like Ambroxol, decongestant nasal sprays, saline nasal irrigation and steam inhalations.
Sleep with head slightly raised to ease the drainage..
You can also do warm compresses in the area around the nose over the cheeks..
