Suggest Remedy For Severe Knee Pain And Aches In Hip

I am 20 years old and have had knee pain since I was maybe 13. It was barable for a while, but lately it was been terrible and my hips have begun aching as well. It hurts to walk around too much' go upstairs, even get out of bed on bad days. Some days it is hardly anything but many times I find myself just laying down with heat on my joint because it is all I can do. I'm worried it is something I should see a doctor about? I do not have health insurance yet but I should in the next month. thank you
