General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The severe pain and lack of strength in arms may be related to various causes of myopathy as:
- Drug induced (possible corticosteroid or others)
- Inflammatory
- Hypothyroidism related
- Fibromyalgia
- Polymyositis
- Other issues

It is best recommended to consult an expert rheumatologist for this regard to diagnose it thoroughly and cure accordingly. Till that time, following would help you:
- Heating pad application for 5 minutes each 3 times a day
- Control of body weight
- Avoiding sudden jerky movements
- Control of blood sugar, blood pressure

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
