Hi I m 31 years old.. March 2014 Found out after I was servely anemic last year. Due to being hospitalized last March bc of low count of blood. Received an blood transfusion and iron IV.. April 2014 had a pelvic ultrasound found I had a large fibroid the size of a grapefruit ( abdominal mycetomy) removed. It s been almost a year since the surgery next month. I still have abdominal pain, feels tight and when I move feels like a bulging on the ( left) side the fibroid was removed from. My stomach looks like I m extremely bloated. I ve NEVER had a stomach. Prior to surgery and I ve gain weight before the surgery .. Lost it and gained more than I weight before surgery. After removal I ve been experiencing lower back pain , buttock and upper back thigh area also on my left side. I ve to my primary care doctor. In regards of experience of lower back pain. I ve been told will take some time to heal. However this is longer than I expected. At this point to don t kno what to do or how to take this process

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of low hemoglobin, lower back pain are likely to due to fibroid. Fibroid can lead to vaginal bleeding and thus anemia. However, these symptoms should disappear after surgery. Persistence of lower pain can be due to other cause. I suggest you to consult your orthopedist for clinical assessment and thus management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
