Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain In Lower Back With Lack Of Strength

I was in an accident been going to chiropractor and therapy for 2 months ... Lower back on left side still feels like it is raw meat in side my back... Like someone has cut me with a knife... No strength in back can not lift and if bend down have no strength to get up ... So having to use legs to help get up or pull up... Was wondering if that was normal and should strength be better by now.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain in lower back with lack of strength . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like lower back muscle strain , degenerating disc , osteoarthritis , spinal stenosis or compressed fracture. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan along with MRI and nerve conduction test . Doctor may recommend physical therapy which is very helpful . Doctor may also prescribed muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also recommend surgery in case of compressed fracture . For now apply warm compresses on lower back , take proper rest and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
