Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain In Rib Cage

Hi, I ve been experiencing ongoing pain in my rib cage. This is going back 2 months ago, my Doctor first diagnosed it as kidney inflammation due to the area the pain was in. I am currently still experiencing the pain in the same area, I ve been seeing a physio in the past 6 weeks and have treat it as facet joint sprain. Im getting so tired of all the doctors visits and still not going anywhere. I now have a medium solid lump on my right rib cage and is very painful when pushed or touched. I just want the correct diagnosis to receive the right treatment. What do you think this may be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic HCM. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

Probable cause:-
Lipoma.

What it actually is?:-
The lump which you have defined as medium solid in your query is actually a
collection of fat cells accumulated inside a capsule covering. It is formed just beneath the skin and you have got it on your right rib cage.

What is causing that pain to you?:-
When you touch and press on it, the fat cells get pushed but the capsule is fixed to the surrounding tissues and can't be pushed so causes a pull on the attachments of capsule. This causes sharp tearing pain

Is there some worries regarding the lump?:-
Only pain is the worry, otherwise there is no need to worry as lipomas usually don't undergo malignant cancerous transformation.

Why it happened to you?:-
It has a strong genetic predisposition and you were prone to their formation. Your body weight doesn't matter.

Diagnostic test needed?:-
Yes, Ultrasound to confirm my diagnosis.

Do you need treatment?:-
Yes, because this lipoma has became painful. Such patients when land to my office, I do treat them for a definite reason-the pain.

What the best treatment is?:-
Resection under local anesthesia by the physician/General Surgeon in Minor Operation Theater. Until you get appointment take Ibuprofen for pain and avoid pressing on the lump.

Can it recur?:-
Yes.

Hope I answered all of your questions. Please don't forget to add your precious positive feedback to help me able to assist you better in future too. Have a wonderful time ahead.
