Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain In Stomach

I recently received a stent in my bile duct due to severe pain in my stomach. during a ercp procedure the doctor said that the biliary duct was blocked (don t know the cause for blockage) and he inserted a stent to drain the toxins. Now the doctor says that the stent cannot stay there for more than 8 weeks. I am just concerned as the doctor never mentioned anything about having to remove the stent after the initial procedure.

Hello,

I agree with your doctor on the fact that the stent should be removed, as it may lead to infection. For this reason, I recommend discussing about this issue with your ERCP doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
