Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain Post Possible Tailbone Fracture

i fell down about 3 years ago, dr. said i probably broke my tail bone, the pain got better after about 2 months, never really went away completely but it was tolerable, about one week ago i was walking my normal 3 miles, it started to get stronger, now i have more pain, afraid to walk, do not know if i should rest it out or wait. tried muscle creams does not seem to help.
