Suggest Remedy For Shortness Of Breath And Bronchitis

I have had a sinus infection and them bronchitis for the last several weeks. My doctor gave me two rounds of antibiotics for sinus infection, but I still have bronchial irritation and shortness of breath . she then gave me Qvar, but that has not seemed to help much. Do you think I need another round of antibiotics?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No, another round of antibiotic will not help you.
Inhaled treatment is the best treatment for bronchitis.
You are taking only qvar (inhaled corticosteroids).
Mainstay of treatment in bronchitis is inhaled bronchodilator (formoterol or salmeterol).
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (pulmonary function test).
PFT will tell you about severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only.
You may need additional inhaled bronchodilator along with qvar.
Don't worry, you will be alright with appropriate treatment.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
