Suggest Remedy For Skin Infection

I have a skin infection on my foot. Saw a doc and started on keflex 2 days ago. The red area got bigger yesterday but seems the same size today. It seems to be turning more of a purple color now. Does this mean it s starting to heal or is it getting worse?
