Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. You have many medical conditions like SLE, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Restless leg syndrome, edema etc. These medical conditions themselves cause significant distress and thus result in insomnia and restlessness. So to treat the persistent insomnia you are having these conditions should be corrected first.
For insomnia at your age benzodiazepines in low dose can be used. Clonazepam or Diazepam which are long acting drugs can be used for sleep in low doses. But these drugs carry abuse potential so should be used on SOS basis only for short durations of the time. Other medicines like Trazodon or Mirtazapine can also help. These are safe medicines and can be used regularly for sleep. Please consult a psychiatrist for evaluation and prescription of these medicines.
Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
