Suggest Remedy For Slow Fading Blackish Mark On Shoulder Blade

My Daughter who is 22 years of age and has done MS in Pharmacology with Physiocology has had a blackish kind of mark since a month which she says was bluishish purple earlier. She does not recollect hurting herself or getting a bruise but is worried over the light blackish patch on her shoulder blade and slightly on the back of shoulder. She consulted a doctor where she was doing her internship in london and the doctor could not identify what it could be.The doctor suggested she should wait and see if the mark fades. The mark has lightened but has been there for a month now she is getting worried. what would you suggest should be done?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that she should get a biopsy done of the skin patch from the margins of the patch.

I suspect that to be melanoma. I would not suggest waiting for much. And yes get her platelets checkup done too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
